The Agile Alliance, like the term agile, is an umbrella organization that supports the advancement of agile methods within the software community. The main and most visible program of the Agile Alliance is the annual Agile 20xx conference, traditionally held each August in a different city. Other programs include financial support for local and regional conferences around the world, expense reimbursement for speakers traveling to smaller conferences, and a host of other activities.
The Scrum Alliance is a non-profit organization that administers certifications for ScrumMasters, developers, coaches, product owners and trainers. The Scrum Alliance also puts on “Scrum Gatherings” around the world, and helps support local scrum user groups.
Agile Project Leadership Network (APLN)
The APLN is a non-profit organization focused on the advancement of project leadership skills within the agile community. Based on the Declaration of Interdependence written by the founders, you can join the APLN social network here.
Lean Software and Systems Consortium
The Lean SSC is a newly-formed group that focuses on bringing Lean thinking, including the use of Kanban, to software enterprises.
The DSDM Consortium was founded on the desire to jointly develop and promote a standardized Rapid Application Development (RAD) framework, and was launched as DSDM in 1994. It has been primarily popular in the UK where it was developed, and has since evolved into DSDM Atern. DSDM Atern is promoted by the DSDM as an “Agile Project Delivery Framework”.
